Church News

Santa Maria church is dedicated to bringing good news of salvation to all mankind, regardless of gender, age, race or religion.

When life moves fast, it’s easy to drift—busy calendars, tough headlines, and decisions that don’t leave much room to breathe.

Yet Scripture invites us to pause and seek wisdom that anchors the heart. As a church family, we’re learning to ask a simple question in every season: “What does the Bible say?” From finances to friendships, study to service, God’s Word gives steady footing and clear next steps.

Wisdom grows where the Word is opened and applied. That’s why we gather—on Sundays, in small groups, and online—to read Scripture together, ask honest questions, and pray bold prayers. In the Wisdom Books (Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs), we find guidance for grief and joy, justice and mercy, work and rest. We don’t just learn principles; we meet the Person of wisdom—Jesus Christ, who leads us into truth and teaches us how to live with grace.

Community makes wisdom practical. A conversation after service, a voice note in the WhatsApp group, or a shared meal can turn Sunday’s sermon into Monday’s action. We encourage one another to forgive freely, give generously, and serve quietly. When challenges come, we carry them to God in prayer and to each other in love. This is how the church becomes a refuge: not by perfection, but by presence—God’s with us, and we’re with each other.

Formation takes time, and that’s okay. Step by step, Scripture shapes our habits: a daily Psalm, a proverb at lunchtime, a weekly study in Ecclesiastes to re-center our priorities. We learn to name what’s heavy, celebrate what’s holy, and choose what’s wise. Along the way, the Holy Spirit softens our hearts, strengthens our hope, and sets our feet on paths that lead to life.

Let’s walk this road together. Join a Bible study, share a prayer request, serve at an outreach, or invite a friend to church. Ask, “Lord, give me wisdom for today”—and watch Him provide. As we listen and obey, our homes brighten, our city is blessed, and Christ is lifted high.
